What Is A Pitch Deck

A pitch deck is a brief presentation used to provide your audience with a quick overview of your business plan, usually shown to potential investors. We looked at a number of pitch deck examples today and an exercise to create our own.

Airbnb pitch deck - Slidebean

I found these helpful videos from Slidebean on Youtube which perfectly explain what to include in a pitch deck and examples of big brand's slide decks from the past such as Uber, Spotify and AirB&B.

What To Include

  1. Vision. What does the future of your product look like? Product name, logo, one line description.
  2. Problem. What is the problem you are trying to solve?
  3. Solution. Outline the solution which is your product, what is your product's USP?
  4. Market size. Outline or predict the size of your target market.
  5. Go to market strategy. How do you plan to take your product to market?
  6. Traction. Indicating how much success you have made to date.
  7. What's next. What are the next moves for your product in terms of development or marketing.
  8. Team. Who is involved in your product development?
  9. Ask. Ask what you need from them, the potential investors, whether that be in terms of money or even just help in order to move your product onwards.
